Renewed ACV campus in Ghent

The original building was replaced by a new timber construction. Building with wood significantly reduced the carbon footprint of the building.

Consistent with the sustainable vision of the design, LDCwood^® ThermoWood^® pine was chosen for the permanent sunshading. Sourced from sustainable managed forest, the Pine is FSC® certified.

The small knots of the pine add a playful and contemporary feel to the facade, which is expected to age to a natural grey over time.

Fire retardant ThermoWood^® pine

Lemahieu Fire Protection^® has been selected to provide the fire retardant treatment. This treatment treats LDCwood^® ThermoWood^® with Burnblock^®, a 100% natural fire retardant, achieving the required reaction to fire class. No post-treatment or maintenance is required to maintain the reaction to fire class.
